I have a 2006 SD340 and as long as I hook into shore power and the AC converter is on my engine hatch opens even with no batteries. I have also heard you can plug a battery into the 12V adaptor at the helm and that will provide power to the batch.

If no battery, no power to the hydraulic pump. There is likely some way to hook another battery to the system under the helm area but I have no knowledge of how. The hydraulic pump works off the battery, no way to make the 110 shore power do the job.

Hello Everyone,
After taking my batteries out for the winter on my Sundancer 260, I ouldn't get the engine hatch to close. I searched online and didn't find any solutions other than to remove the locking pin in the hydraulic arm that lifts the hatch. I did try putting the boat on shore power by turing the cockpit main DC panel setting to "Both" and then set the main breaker panel to "Shorline" power followed by turning on the battery charger, seen the meter register to 110v. But the latch didn't work. I finally ended up polling the pin and was barely able to lift the hatch enough to pull it up....there's got to be a better way?
