Four Days of High Performance Fun, Powered by Mercury Racing

The seventh annual MTI Owners Fun Run was sold out with 59 boats participating in the four-day event, March 10-13. In a stunning display of power and beauty the fleet departed Haulover Marine Center in North Miami on Thursday for Hawks Cay Resort on Duck Key with stop at Gilbert’s Resort in Key Largo for lunch. Friday offered a variety of lunch stop options in the area and a White Party dinner and awards at Hawks Cay Resort that evening. A sandbar raft-up was planned for Saturday followed by another dinner at the resort.

For six owners, the highlight of the Fun Run was taking delivery of a brand new MTI boat. Marine Technology Inc. of Wentzville, Mo., reports the list of new MTI boats launched for the Run includes an MTI-V 42 demo model powered by quad Mercury Racing 450R outboards and two MTI-V 50 luxury performance center consoles, each powered by five Mercury Racing 450R outboards, owned by Patrick Clark of Las Vegas and Zane Mead of Texas. MTI also delivered two stunning new 390X catamaran models powered by twin Mercury Racing 450R engines for customers John Angal and Gary Lange of Arizona. Jake Nossaman of Oklahoma was on hand with his new MTI 48 Pleasure catamaran powered by a pair of Mercury Racing 1100 engines, just one of the 36-foot to 52-foot sterndrive boats at the event.

Most MTI owners cruised back to Miami on Sunday, with a few lingering in the Keys until Monday.
