Looking for a place to get a momentary switch for replacement of my port engine push button ignition switch on my dash.

A good starting point is to get the Carling part number from the existing switch body.

Once that is obtained then selection of an acceptable replacement is "easy".

The identical replacement, or an acceptable replacement, may be purchased from www.fpmarine.com, eBay, Amazon, or any of many vendors.

It may be that this Carling VM4J-1 switch is the correct part, but it is on backorder at FP Marine.

It may be that this Carling VMDJ-1 switch, with green LED illumination, may work as an in-stock substitute, perhaps by not connecting the LED.

Again, a good starting point is to get / provide the identification marking on the existing switch body.

It was the VM4J (no -1?) not sure if the 9932 number is significant?

Thanks for the info and the image.

Yes, either previously provided switch link will work. It may be better (cost less) to remain w/ the VM4J-1 switch (w/o illumination), from a different vendor, instead of waiting for FP Marine to restore inventory.

This rocker removal tool is very useful.

Thank you for the help. Looks like I may just be waiting for FP. no one appears to have them on the ol' world wide web.
thanks again

YW

The previously linked Carling VMDJ-1 switch is in stock and would drop in, just having rocker illumination (at a greater purchase cost) if immediate availability is required to permit normal operation of the boat.

Thank you wingless
I will debate. Believe it or not it was the last start of the season in Wisconsin. I was trying to get it out of the marina and to the lift to be stored for the winter. I had someone help me wire both switches to the working starboard switch to get it started and to the lift. What a way to end a season.
