2018 Mercury 150 Thermostat Question

New boat and I'm doing the maintenance on it soon. I have been looking for a thermostat but mostly what I'm seeing is a all in one piece ...like housing with Thermostat in it. Are you able to replace just the thermostat separately from the housing unit? It would be crazy for them to make you replace the whole unit every couple years at 140-180  pop.

I'm not familiar with that outboard, but agree that it would be nuts to not have a separate thermostat. There are several good Mercury parts sites, I use BAM Mercruiser Parts for lookups. Don't always buy from them, but they have a good look up. Plug the engine serial number in the top right of the home page then navigate down (probably) through 'raw water cooling' and you will get an exploded parts diagram and table of parts.

Hope that helps.
