Would like to hear from other Sea Ray owners about their cruising adventures on the hook. And how often you run the generator while anchoring.

I use my boat for fishing, I run my generator most times out for a few hours.   I heard it's good to do so or your coils can go bad...?  Just need to clean the strainer, mine was full of mayfly larva.
