I bought 1 2004 240 Sundancer and I'm having two problems.

1. I store it outdoors with a full cockpit cover. When we get heavy rain it gets about 2-3 inches of standing water in the recessed area in front of the refrigerator. There are no widows open in the cabin. How can I determine where the water is coming from?

2. I unfolded the port side seat and can't get it to return to the upright position.  It travels about 6 inches and stops.

It could be the side portholes, either leaking through the gasket, or leaking through the metal to gelcoat seal.

Same also for the skylight.

Check during a downpour or w a garden hose.

Pull the trash can out from the steps and check the pump/hoses and bilge area in general around there. If that area gets flooded it will manifest in front of the fridge.

I checked the sump yesterday and surprisingly there was about 6 inches of standing water in the trash can. The pump seems to be working fine. There is no sign of how the water entered the trash can.

Strange! Check the floor drain on the helm side of the slider door. Maybe that drain is backing up and flooding under the slider?

You can get water in the cabin and by the fridge from the following:

Windows... need to be opened and the seals CLEAN and treated with vaciline or similar.
If the door doesn't close properly or doesn't seal when it does close, can be an issue.
You may have a leak in the plumbing from the shower or AC unit to the holding box under the steps, which is a PITA to fix.

From what you say, sounds like your leak is in the plumbing to the box, or the box is cracked. Also, it should be almost empty. If it's full the bilge pump in the box is inop.

Should be dry under the steps and below the box.
