If you are describing the first generation smart craft "system view" display of 2005-2008 vintage you may be experiencing that the display edges are fading. Systemview displays are not available any more. You might consider replacing with a current generation vessel view display. I found a boat dealer in florida that is marketing a vessel view kit along with a bezel that will adapt to the original system view dashboard opening. Vesselview is a plug and play unit that will mate to your original smart craft cabling. The upgrade will offer additional engine management display features.
