I have a Westerbeke gas generator 7.0 BCG -60Hz, with a single start switch on my panel. After my 3rd attempt to start the generator the switch no longer turns it over. Is there a breaker or fuse that might be blown or do I have a bigger problem?

Welcome to the forum.

Why not attempt to start the generator in the engine room instead of the salon?

Just turn on the contactor providing battery power to the generator and turn the salon switch to the ON/RUN position, then use the generator control panel.

Yes, there is a push button to reset circuit breaker on the generator.

There are also two switches OFF/RUN/START and CHOKE OFF/ON.

When I start by gen, same model, I press and hold the choke for 5 seconds, then also press and hold the start. Once running I release the start, then release the choke, but am ready to choke again if required at startup.

Then I apply load, also again ready for choke at this initial application, if required.

There’s an 8amp fuse right by the starter switch in the engine room. Try the switch first, then check the fuse.

There are more than 1 fuse. The service manual list all of them

Thanks for all your help with this. It turns out to be a faulty switch on my panel
