My 2001, 310 sd has faulty hour...

My 2001, 310 sd has faulty hour meters. Some of the digits are missing segments, so you can't tell what the numbers are.

When I bought the boat last season I was assured that the engines had 350 hrs. Which the starboard meter showed. When it reached 400 the 4 turned into a 1. I wasn't concerned because my mechanic said he could pull the true hours off the computers, no problem.

I have been after him to do it for me with no response. Now he just informed me that my 2001 computers are too old, and he can't do it.

Is there any way to verify run time on my engines??

The Quicksilver Digital Diagnostic Terminal (DDT) plugs into the engines on my 2000 380DA w/ Mercruiser 454 MAG MPI Horizon engines and can display the engine hours.

The polarizing film on the hour meter LCD display deteriorates w/ time and sun exposure, making the display useless.

An instrument repair company might be able to swap those failed films, restoring the gauges.
