I have a 1990 Anberjack with twin Alpha One, Gen 1 outdrives. I just replaced the sea water impellers. After reconnecting the lower unit to the upper, the shift throttle will not come out of forward gear.
Prior to reconnecting, I made sure the throttle was in FWD position. I rotated the gear spline on the lower unit CW and rotated the prop CCW until it locked and then held it tight with a bungie. I believe this is all the correct procedure. Now I fear I have to drain all the brand new gear lube, pull the lower off again, and see what I did wrong? Any comments greatly appreciated.
