Hey y’all! I’m back with a million...

Hey y’all! I’m back with a million new questions for y’all.

we have a 1990 220 da and loads of issues LOL.

The first is we have a 5.7 mercruiser and we are needed to know how many water pumps this engine has. We replaced the impeller and it started “pissing” water out of the foot which is a HUGE step for us (it wasn’t doing that before LOL). We get good flow of water from the foot to the motor but it is still running hot. We put a new thermostat in and it ran hot removed the thermostat and again it ran hot. Could our gauge be messed up? If so where can we get another gauge? The motor in the boat is remanufactured motor. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Water should be “pissing” out on each side of the outdrives. Do you have both sides? Use a temp gun to measure each side. Is one side hotter than the other? A 1990 could theoretically have nearly 30 year old exhaust manifolds and risers. Some corrosion inside three components could be impeding water flow.
