Need help finding my hour meter...

Need help finding my hour meter on my 2015 sundeck 270. Can’t find any useful information in the owners manuals. Scrolling through the computer shows everything but the hourmeter. I’ve never seen my hours but my mechanic always tells me how many. Maddening! Why do they make this so difficult to find how many hours?

According to page 2.11 + 2.12 (41 + 42) the display on the Smart Craft Gauge System may be selected to show engine hours.

On my boat I can also plug in my Quicksilver Digital Diagnostic Terminal (DDT) and inquire that info directly from the engine Electronic Control Module (ECM).

On my boat, Engine hours don’t appear in that list after Voltage. They don’t appear on that rotation at all. I eventually found “season hours” after scrolling deep into sub levels. I eventually found it under “trip season.” It had never been reset since I bought it new because I didn’t know it existed. Upon further drilling down sub levels, I eventually found something that said “hours,” which were only a few more hours than the season hours, so the dealer must have driven it for a few hours. Just saying, I didn’t receive directions on how to drill down into the computer’s sub levels to find this basic information. I searched so many different sub levels that I still can’t say with confidence where I happened to find total “hours.” I think it was under the fuel info. The computer looks pretty neat now that I know all it can do 5 years later but it would have been nice to receive adequate instructions.

If this is the manual for the Smart Craft gauge on the boat, then it is waaay too complex to be useful.

My guess is that the mechanic gets the engine hours the easy way, by plugging in to the engine ECM. The engine hours are easy to display w/ that tool.
