Who is running a single 450R and what boat and what is your setup like? For example, jack plate, setback, engine height, prop. etc.

Post performance numbers too.

Tim Powell over at Fastbass Marine rigged one on his demo boat, an Allison XB21. He hasn't posted up much info, but I believe he is well into the triple digits.

Hi!

I have a Phantom 25 1985 model straight V with a 450R. This model ran and won lots of offshore races in the 80-ties.

Previous engines been Johnson GT 3,6 liter V8 300, Promax 300 SVS, 2 x 2.5 EFI SS with PCU´s, Verado 350 Sci and Verado 400R during the years. I am using a Max5 15,25 dia 27 pitch ST prop. Max speed is 93,3 mph at 6,200 rpms. Propheight 2 inches above the bottom. 4 inches setback plus 8 inches notch. Cruises at 52 mph at 3,500 rpm @ 4,13 MPG and 60 mph at 4,000 rpm @ 3,87 MPG. Not bad for almost 40 years racing hull.

We will try to get a little more out of it. Goal is 94 mph with the Max5 prop. Looking at a CNC 5bl cleaver. Hopefully I can afford one some day 🙂
