for the life of me, i can't figure out a way to reset the fuel use to zero after a fill up, it shows all the fuel used by the last owner, but reset does nothing.  any ideas would really help.

I would tell you to reach out to your local dealer and get service help.  I am having an issue with mine reading correctly as well.
