Kicking Off the Season Out West
The Mercury Racing crew attended the 32nd annual Lake Havasu Boat Show, April 14-16, where the new Mercury Racing V10 400R outboard and Ventera propeller debuted for the western performance boat audience. West Coast performance boat builders including DCB, Nordic, Advantage, Howard, Barron and many others displayed at the show, with Mercury Racing power predominate, including the 450R outboard and QC4 sterndrive engines.
Mercury Racing hosted a VIP customer reception on Friday showcasing the all-new V10 400R and a display of heritage engines celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Mercury Racing. The Mercury Marine Hi-Performance Products Department was established in 1973 to provide amateur and professional boat racers with a complete marine racing center. Successive generations of outboard, sterndrive and performance products have served racers and passionate performance pleasure boaters. Today the Mercury Racing brand represents the pinnacle of marine power and performance.
Designed primarily to power performance center console boats and catamarans to speeds well beyond 75 mph, the Mercury Racing V10 400R offers more power and a higher RPM range than any outboard in this category. A new naturally aspirated V10 5.7-liter (349 CID) powerhead is based on the proven design architecture of the V8 4.6-liter Mercury Racing 300R model. The 64-degree powerhead maintains the compact width required for 26-inch center-to-center mounting on multi-engine transoms for seamless installations on new boats and repower applications. A host of exclusive Mercury Racing features further enhance the experience of piloting a Wide Open performance powerboat.
For the 32nd year the Lake Havasu Marine Association presented the Lake Havasu Boat Show, sponsored by Anderson Powersports, at Windsor Beach in the Arizona State Park. The event is featured 150 exhibits displaying over $50 million worth of boats plus UTV and PWC and RV. Live entertainment was featured on the Radio Central stage along with competition in the Lake Havasu Cornhole Championships. The show annually kicks off the boating season on Lake Havasu, just a week before the exciting Anderson Powersports Desert Storm presented by Kicker Marine Audio poker run and a shoot-out, another event certain to showcase the Wide Open performance of Mercury Racing products.
