Trout

Of all the freshwater trout, Rainbow Trout is known to be the tastiest catch. This fish is a popular choice for those looking to bring home dinner after a day of fishing. Trout is a versatile catch and can be prepared many delicious ways such as wood-fire grilled, baked, smoked, and even pickled!

Mahi- Mahi

A fish you’ve surely seen mentioned on the seafood menu, Mahi-Mahi is known for its great taste. Popularly caught off the coast of Florida, Mahi-Mahi (also referred to as Dolphin or Dorado) can be hard work to fish, but these fighters are deliciously worth it. Grill, pan-sear, or even fry this perfectly flaky catch.

Salmon

Salmon has been a crowd-pleasing catch over the past few years, getting fame for its many health benefits. Rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, salmon is amazing for reducing inflammation, lowering cholesterol, and benefiting overall heart health. Not only is it a superfood (and tasty too!) but it’s one you can catch and eat yourself.

Catfish

Are you an early riser or a night owl? Either make you a great candidate for catfishing! Not only are they fun to catch, but they’re easy to prepare in many scrumptious ways. The most common way to prepare catfish is deep-fried, but there’s no limit to how this fish can be cooked—grilled, baked, pan-fried. It has a mild, sweet flavor yet is denser and less flakey than other whitefish. You’ll never get bored trying new ways to chef up this one!

Tuna

From Yellowfin to Bluefin, Tuna can turn a great day of fishing into a delicious meal. Yellowfin tuna is commonly served raw in Japanese preparations, like sushi restaurants. Or, made into a classic tuna salad for sandwiches and salads. Yellowfin steaks are also delicious lightly seared in a pan or on the grill. This quick-cooking method beautifully chars the outside, while leaving the inside rare, juicy, and tasty. Similarly, Bluefin tuna steaks are best prepared pan-seared with a medium-rare center. Bluefin tend to have fattier meat, so while they’re not quite as lean as Yellowfin, they’re just as tasty. Take your tuna steaks to the next level with a sesame-soy marinade or sauce!
