Here is a Pro-Tip. If you are heading to the Tampa / Clearwater area, there is a hotel called the Treasure Bay Marina Resort. It is a nice hotel, right across the street from the Gulf of Mexico. Great pool, breakfast, and sunset bar too! What is even better is that this property also hosts one of the Freedom Boat Clubs on Treasure Island. If you fly into Tampa or Clearwater, simply take an Uber to the resort. Because the boats are literally outside your backdoor, you don't need to rent a car! Rough weather on the Gulf? Not a problem, as the resort is on the ICW, which takes you to John's Pass and Clearwater to the north, and St. Pete to the south. Tons of "dock-n-dine" locations such as Caddy's, Sea Dogs, and more! Show them your FBC boat key, and most places offer 15% off the bill or a free appetizer.
When you bring the boat back, all the best restaurants are within walking distance of the property. There is even a Publix and a Walgreens 2 blocks south. Take the $100 per day you saved by not having to rent a car and enjoy Florida from a Freedom Boat Club boat!
