Looking to buy a 40 ft sea ray and every boat we look at the port fuel tank has shelf it sits on and every shelf has been rotted out. Any one have experience with this . Looks as though you would need to pull the port engine to remove tank and Surveyer says when you lift the tank it will probably pin hole the tank from sitting in a wet environment. this problem is in the sea rays built in the 90’s not sure about other years. Sea ray in later years must have noted this problem and now builds the tank support differently
