Steering cable oil

I have a 2001 Searay 340 and would like to know what type of oil goes in the steering cable . There is a fill plug just in front of the steering wheel. Also, how do you tell if it needs oil or it is full. Any help would be appreciated.

You have hydraulic steering. There a specific type of oil you should use. Just search marine hydraulic steering. It should be filled to the top.
