New here. I have a new to me 2004 185 Sport, 4.3L. It has the stock 14 x 23p aluminum prop on it. I have a SS 14 × 19p wheel.in my parts bin. Can someone give me a heads up on what performance changes I would experience with that SS wheel? I figure over rev at WOT may be one issue.

Thanks!

Well you will get out of the hole a lot faster I'm not sure what it came with your boat stock but that's a pretty big jump so overreving is prob going to be a big issue 1 p makes a big difference so 4 would be huge

Slow getting back here..my apologies. Stock wheel is 14x23 aluminum which is what's on it. Current WOT is 4000 with a light load. My research says 1p decrease results in a 200 RPM increase so to hit the recommended 4400-4600 I should drop 2-3p. A 21p sounds like the optimal choice. I'm about to put the boat on the trailer for the winter so I think I'll hand that 19p and see what it does before I spend any $$ on a new SS.
