Recently bought a 1998 signature 210 in remarkably good condition. Fortunately At a very reasonable price. I just had the outdrive impeller new seals new Bellows installed. Anybody know enough about this to tell me what else I should look at?

If you didnt get the service records with the boat, might I suggest that all fluids levels be checked along with an oil change and all filters be replaced including gas and water/fuel separator. You may also want to do a minor tuneup including spark plugs and possibly spark plug wires. Also lubricate all cables which have a tendancy to stick over the years. Good luck and have fun.

So that you would have a good base line - I would do the following: impeller (which you have done) oil change, fuel filter and drive service. Not to disagree with SueLynn, but if the motor is performing well, no need to change spark plugs and wires. It won't hurt anything to change them either.

Just got it back from the shop had the whole outdrive serviced new gimbal bearing lower bearing impeller seals lubrication bellows. No more of the strange sounds performed really well for a 20-year-old boat

So I’ve now put almost 20 hours on this boat Today we had it out there was an anomaly in the operation of the motor it felt like a dirty fuel filter maybe but the weird thing was the tachometer was moving wildly from 3000 to 5000 in back when it was cutting out could this be because it was cutting out?
