I'm about to purchase a 390/40 Motor Yacht. Does anyone know how to access inside the swim platform to put in backing plates/nuts for a davit system? My 290 Sundancer was easy. The MY has an enclosed bustle swim platform. Thanks!

The underside is open. I would think a diver could help attach such a system. If the boat has Cummins 480s, read the articles on SBMAR.com about exhaust valve seat failures as a result of the boat being over propped. Make sure your insurance covers unplanned mechanical failures.

Primary access is from underneath the master berth. Under the mattress there is an access plate to the after bilge and the platform. There is a door behind the toilet to starboard and a removable plate inside the closet to port. In any event, I have seen a wide variety of davits installed on boats of this class so many configurations are certainly possible. I would plan to do it while on the hard so as to access the bottom.

After a lot of research I had to cut access ports in the top of the SP.
