We have an 04 500 SR Sundancer that is a terrific boat for us.  One problem is causing us fits.  Our generator will start and run for a period of time, ranging from 5 hours down to 5 minutes, shuts down and will not restart.  The diesel mechanic has pursued fuel supply issues hard and hasn't been able to resolve the issue.  Does anyone have a similar experience or point us in another direction?

Here's a similar problem I had with a generator a while ago. The generator would start and run for a while and stop. Finally I figured out that the fuel filter 2 micron installed by a tech was the issue, changed it to a 30 micron and problem solved. On another generator with a similar problem it turned out to be a sensor, start removing and testing each sensor. I'm sure you'll find it, good luck!
