Hello Sea Ray owners,
I have a 2000 420 Aft Cabin! If you own a 1997 to 2000, you know it is very difficult to work in front of the portside engine, because the generator is in the way. I have talked to Sea Ray and others, and have found no solution, other than to disconnect the generator and move it to the side, in order to work.
So I had a custom slide tray made, that the generator sits on. The generator doesn't slide far enough starboard to install the tray. So I built a steel pipe support for for a ceiling lift. Over the small hatch, I was able to lift the generator 4 inches, so the new base and tray could be installed. I'm now in the process of extending all the water lines, cable lines to slide it out of the way. Once the two locking pins are removed, the generator slides to the right 16 inches. This is going to make things so much easier to work on the main batteries and portside engine when needed. If anyone is interested, please let me know at [email protected]
