Here are images showing the arch connection on my 2000 380DA. It is likely similar to the connection on your 2006 320DA.

My arch connection is exposed by pulling off the side trim upholstery panels on each side. They are retained by friction Christmas tree fasteners.

On mine there are huge aluminum plates on the top, large aluminum plates on the bottom, long / large bolts, probably 3/8" or 5/16" and regular washers.

The factory placed wiring harness connectors nearby, to permit disconnection for arch removal and reconnection for assembly.

Aftermarket wiring, like for a radar pedestal, needs to also be fed through.

The parts manual shows the arch w/ stud plates on pages 9 and 10.

On my boat, both upholstery panels, on the starboard and on the port, may be yanked w/o removing anything else.

The holes in the fiberglass wall were cut by the factory. Those hose are concealed by the removable upholstery panels. Those large holes in the fiberglass side walls permit access to the plates and fasteners, on the top and on the bottom, for assembly / disassembly.

On my boat I popped a large hole in one of the plates for the 1" ID flexible hose feeding high-volume high-pressure air to my arch, for my cruise ship horns and my tub boat whistle, shown in the second image.

Has the cavity below the arch been examined to see if those large / expensive plates dropped into that void after being unbolted. On my boat I can unscrew then remove stuff to gain access to the void below the arch.

FWIW, the factory used large / thick plates on the top and thinner square plates on the bottom. I think the top plates are 1/2" thick aluminum, that fit the entire area. On the bottom I think the plates are 1/4" thick aluminum that are 1-1/2" square plates.
