I am looking for new boat insurance.  I had good insurance at a good rate but this year they jumped my premium up about 20% and there was some comments that they are getting out of the boat insurance business.  I have a 2010 390 DA.

Progressive. Gave me a disappearing rate. Each year goes down by 20% and then it’s free. I have motor with them as well.

Thanks but it seems that Progressive doesn't insure boats more than 35 ft.

I recently purchased boat insurance from State Farm and got a great price. My agent is Alysa DiMarco (914) 864-2888

Geico starts depreciating engine after 10 years after manufacturing date. Chubb has no depreciation clause and will cover mechanical breakdown. Premium may be a bit higher but coverage is the best.

Boat US affiliated with Geico has worked out well for me. Less cost and hassle than most.

With me I have a 2015 280 dancer I have had BoatUS with this boat and previous boats but the went from 1200. Per year to 2500 so no choice to look elsewhere NBOA 850.00 a year with same coverage

We have progressive for the 24' and are happy with them. Geico for the 48' boat. Surprise from Geico, they depreciated our prop and shaft by 80%!! taking us below our deductible so we had to foot the entire bill. So beware of this clause if you have an older boat, ours is a 2004.

See my post above, 2005 boat, $22,000 to rebuild an engine, insurance paid $18,000

Have Geico Marine/Boat Us. Had our previous boats engines stolen ( Yamaha F300’s)... they covered it.
Living in FL they seem the best value including Bahamas endorsement.

I use www.globalmarineinsurance.com. They are an independent agency marine insurance specialist that will shop multiple insurers. They presented me with multiple options. I wound up using Progressive.

I’ve been very pleased with Geico US Boat coverage and assistance

Geico was the absolute worst. Gave us a quote while we were shopping around and then Would not honor it. Get insurance from a yacht insurer, we went with Travelers, same price, amazing service.

Hagerty has a new program to cover boats. I have used them on my classic cars and now boat. Very happy and the rate was 10% less than the Traveler policy I had.

BoatUS thru Geico and Progressive are consistently what I've found to have the best rates

We went with travelers through a yacht insurance broker. Much better coverage if you ever have an issue. Geico was the worst! Gave us a low quote and then wouldn’t honor it when we went to underwrite. I thought they would be OK affiliated with Boat US...Avoid like the plague, trust me!

I have a 1979 Sea Ray SRV240 and insurance was tough for a "vintage" boat. We went with Progressive and they were great.
