I have a 2003 5.0 MPI mercuiser which temperature gauge is reading 20 degrees higher than it should be. . Gauge reading 170, manifolds 80-85, housing next to temperature sender 152. New 160 degree thermostat installed,
I'm in the HVAC field and sensors (sending unit) have a temperature vs resistance chart (ohms).
Is this a sending unit, gauge, or issue with something else? I bought the boat 2003 200 last fall and this is the first time really checking it out. I hope I didn't buy a lemon.
