I have a problem with 496/8.1...

I have a problem with  496/8.1 and am considering a remanufactured long block.  I was looking at Michigan Motorz, Jasper, or PPT.  Does anyone have any comments or have good experience with other companies?

It would be great if a good company was local. The Fort Lauderdale area has everything required for boats.

I'm on the Gulf coast and there doesn't seem to be anything near me in New Orleans or towards Florida.

Chech with Mercrusier. they have very reasonable complete remanufactured engines, just plug and play.

Try a Rick Manning at Salty Dog Marine. He orginally built the boat I own (Relentless) with 383 I/O and it is a beast. He might be able to guide you

Just bought some parts from MM and got them less than 72hrs later. BTW I live in the same area you do

Do not use jasper very cheap engines will not last
Look on eBay seen a couple for sale 8.1 is a common engine
