Hi Everyone,
Just bought a 2006 Sundancer 240 that spent its life in Colorado and has never been in salt. I will be running it in saltwater in Washington and keeping it on a trailer...able to flush it after every use...never being in the water for more than a week and usually only a weekend. I see there is a half system fresh water cooling kit available that only cools the block with fresh water.
My question is whether it is worth adding, or if flushing is just as good since it's the exhaust mainfolds / risers that seem to have the most issues with salt? Price to buy the kit and have it installed would be around 2k. Seems pretty steep but wanted to see what others are getting for longevity when running their 350 mag MPIs in salt and taking great care to flush them after use.
Engine has 700 hours but very good compression and seems to have a lot of life left in it.
Thanks!
