Hi there, I am new to the forum. I purchased a 1989 Weekender 300. The boat is in good shape with about 600 hours on the engines. I cannot find any info on the proper process to follow for the AC power panel. Specifically, should the AC Converter be switched to on or off when unplugged from shore power and out cruising? There is no generator.

The AC converter is an AC to DC battery charger that takes shore power (or generator power when equipped) to recharge or maintain all the battery banks to be fully charged.

The on/off selection has zero effect.

My procedure when disconnecting the boat for usage is to flip off the circuit breakers at the power post providing shore power to my boat, then disconnecting the power cords on my boat, leaving them on the dock. Process reversed when returning.

This sequence ensures no way to drop a live cord into the water.
