I am a new owner of a used 2005 200 Sport with a carberated 5 liter. What temperature should I be running? For my first trip today in a fresh water lake it ran about 200...is that expected? It has 175 hours if that’s important.
I had a 2005 205 sport with the same engine and it always ran between 175-185 degrees. Does it run hotter at idle vs. cruising speed? My thoughts, based on the age would be water inlet impeller, and / or replace the cooling system thermostat.
Thanks Jeff. I runs a little hotter unepder load. I’m going to put a new thermostat in it when I summarize it this spring and if that doesn’t do it, I’ll look at the impellers.
