I am hoping someone can answer this question. On the 350 Sundancer Coupe there are four drain holes on the hard top. Three of the four are clogged. Tried blasting with water, wire hanger and long skewer. Any suggestions?

Your question is good. I am not home for a week but we just purchased a new 350 Coupe and live it but every time we start on plane water pours off the port side roof. I will have to check it out when I return. It could be the cause in our boat as well. I will let you know if I figure it out.

I tried the vinegar suggestion in one drain today. Soaked up all standing water in the drain hole first but no luck. I waited three to four hours. There was some rain so I will try on a dry day. The drain hole makes a sharp turn down the opening so you can’t just poke it clear with something. Don’t want to put something too caustic in it either. I will keep trying and when I get it you will hear from me. Enjoy the boat! Lovin’ mine. ‘17 or ‘18?

I got home this weekend. Nothing but rain so I was not able to really check my ports until today. Out of the four the back two ports were not flowing. The water was puddling on the roof. I took and air hose and blew into each hole. Both opened and the standing water flowed out the lower ports. Not sure what was clogging them both. Maybe how the hoses are run or dirt of some kind casuing blockage. I will see if it happens again.

Good thing. I was able to open one of the front drains by the sunroof. We have had so much rain, have not had a chance to go any further.
Tried vinegar again but nothing. Thinking of how to get an air hose to my boat.

I finally was able to check into my water drainage issues. During recent heavy rains I actually got water into the helm via the sunroof leaking. I had Marine Max come to look at the issue and found out that my drains on top are not draining either. The problem found was that the hoses are run up and down like a roll a coaster inside the top before heading downward. The reason is the retractable sun screen that I have on my boat. Sea Ray puts in a brace to help support the rods for the awning inside the roof and they run the hoses in a not well thought out manner using wire ties to hold them up. I was there when the technician was working on the issue and when we pulled the hoses down the drains worked well but when in the mounted position they don't drain and allow several inches of water to collect on the roof. This becomes a real issue when water is collected on top and you take the boat out. If anyone is sitting in the rear they will get a shower when I start to run the boat up from no wake to full speed. Funny but not if you know what i mean. It is a bad design that is not well thought out. Kind of like they did with mounting the generator with the service direction mounted away from the engine room. You can’t even check oil of clear codes. That will be another post.



Marine Max will be back this coming week to re-route the hoses and I will update you on how it works out.

Thanks again for following up. Luckily, no one has been sitting in the port stern seat or they would have been drenched.
I have a maintenance appointment at Marinemax in ten days and will mention the hose situation to the service manager.
Last week, got caught with the sunroof open during a drenching rain. Water came out of access panel on the under side of the coupe top and drained down the sides of the coupe top and should have drained into the bilge. Always having fun!

I have a question about your 350. Did Sea Ray mount the generator with the service end facing away from the engine room making it impossible to read the display, check oil levels, reset faults, etc? They did mine. I wrote them on their contact us at thier website looking for answers. I see no reason for it to be mounted in that direction.
