I have a 2007 240 sundancer. 

Does anyone know the purpose of this piece ?

it came with the boat.

Looks like an interior trim cover, perhaps around the refrigerator or the television.

What does the back side look like?

Back is just the stapled ends of the covering material
Nothing seems missing in the interior trim
It was stored w the insert cushions and table pole
