I have a 2009 310 Sundancer with an all chain windlass. I want to change to rope and would like to know if any changes are necessary to the windlass

Many windlass gypsy will support both rope / chain rode or an all-chain rode w/o modification.

Check the manual for your windlass.

Check out Quickusastore.com. part is mod 900 foot switch. You can buy the cover or the insert. If what you have is old, you may need to replace as a unit. New allows part replacement, old does not.

I have the exact same boat and you have to check the manufacturer of the windlass. Mine takes rope or chain but it must be the right size which is stamped into the windlass drum itself.
