The common ways to attach canvas to a boat is snaps and zippers. Mine has a combination of both.
My canvas has zippers on the top and sides, with snaps on the bottom.
The zippers are attached to the boat using a narrow panel w/ a zipper on one side and a Keder welt on the other side.
That Keder welt is slid into an awning rail screwed onto the boat.
