I recently bought a 1988 230CC, with 700 hrs on the engine. My question to all is, when running at cruising speed, I seem to be getting brown/rusty water coming in the bilge. When I return to dock I can pump out approx. 10-15 seconds. When sitting at dock, I don’t notice any  water infiltration. Last year I was told it was the bellows, had those replaced at the end of the season last year, still having the issue. Could this be freeze plugs or cracked riser?? Any information would be highly appreciated!!

I had a similar problem on my 185 Sport. It turned out to be one of the water drains had developed a micro crack in it. It only leaked when the engine was running and since it wasn't readily visible from above, somewhat difficult to find. Might be worth checking yours.

Thank you Bill for your reply. My original thought was it could have been a freeze plug as well!
