From the files of  "Believe it or not". a good one.  A sizable catfish got sucked into my 460's thruster.  We short hauled to find the problem and remove the fish.  The shear pin at the prop did not break, but the drive pin did break and jam.  Long hauled the boat to get it fixed. $$$$

Just an update on the thruster issue. My 2002 460DA was equipped with a Vetus Bow 80. Apparently, the catfish destroyed the gear box aka tailpiece before the drive pin sheared. The replacement part, about $800, is no longer available from Vetus, although they were very helpful. There is a newer version and Vetus still had 3 of those tailpieces in stock. You can tell them apart.....the newer ones have a smooth surface on the bottom while the older ones have a bolt in the bottom. The replacements are either Bow 75 or Bow 90s. Talk to Ian at Vetus Marine on 321-454-3375.
