I have a 1987 Sea Ray 410 Aft Cabin, I would like to replace my impeller on my port engine. I see no way physically to get to the pump. Anyone have experience with this. I am aware of the issues with having to jack up the engine in order to get it out as well as the SMX pump replacement. I just don’t know how I’m going to be able to get to the pump.

Welcome to the forum.

Assuming access to the large object on the left side of the image is required / impossible.

If correct, then why not remove the fuel stuff in the center and the right of the image to gain sufficient access?

If those parts are relocated, then isn't sufficient access created?

A sheet of plywood cut to fit and placed for a temporary floor would also aid in performing that service.

yes I was thinking of removing the coolant tank and the front fan belt shroud. Hopefully it will give more room to get in there. Like to plywood idea as well.

Whenever I need to perform major service on my generator, I first remove exhaust parts from the starboard side of my starboard engine, for increased access.
