I have a 2003 420 Sundancer.  My Raymarine 230 needs a complete rebuilt or replacement.  I would replace it but have heard that the electrical bridles on the newer VHF's will not connect to my 2003 system.  Any thoughts?  Ritz Sea

The only thing new vhf would connect to is antenna a universal connection and gps which is probably on seatalk network. I had a Ray 218 and lost my gps, I went up to Garmin 210 added a nema 2000 network. I already had replaced my chart plotter with a Garmin 7607 and it was all plug and play. Kept the seatalk as I have auto pilot and depth still on ray sea talk. I understand there are adapters to get from sea talk to a 2000 network. My neighbor replaced his chart plotter and vhf and was able to use his ray depth and auto pilot too. Check around to see if you can adapt. I really like my new radio for me it was better to replace than repair. Good luck.
