I live on the Gulf Coast and have twice in 5 years hit the top of my slidemoors which are 12 ft total and can handle 8-9 ft of surge. I wait as long as I can until the water comes over the dock to keep the batteries charged but then I unhook the power and turn off the entire power to the dock. My power box is 6 ft out of the water but again twice it was submerged. After submerging I wash the power box out with salt away and replace the breakers. Last time I didn't replace the breakers and this summer had breakers on the boat tripping etc. At the dock box the breakers disintegrated when I pulled them out. They
don't like the salt water. After this storm I replaced them for $20. I also spray everything in the box with anticorrosion spray. Hope this helps and by the way, I love my slidemoors but may have to get taller rails and even taller pylons.
