1998 270 SDA Sundancer. I ran an extension cord from the power outlet in the mid-cabin birth to my marina neighbor today and he dropped the outlet end in the water as he was trying to return it and now the power outlet does not work. I tried flipping the breaker (the one marked "outlets and refrigerator", located in the galley) off and back on but still no power, also refrigerator still working fine. All other outlets in the cabin seem to be working fine as well. Anyone know where I might find a fuse or how to reset this outlet?

The boat will have a GFCI receptacle as the first outlet on each string of receptacles.

The GFCI will trip in that type of event, requiring a manual pushbutton reset to restore normal operation.

Locate the tripped receptacle and press the button.

The factory built my boat w/ these receptacles in difficult to locate places.

Thanks Wingless. I found only one outlet on the boat with a GFCI test/reset button and that outlet is working. I tried resetting it to no affect. Any additional thoughts?

Normal home wiring steps should be followed. Note that 120VAC is a hazardous voltage, so only attempt if qualified / experienced.

Remove the dead receptacle from the box.

Measure the input voltage, 0VAC or 120VAC. Verify only one set of wires, not in and out wires.

Assuming input voltage on the wiring is 0VAC and assuming all other receptacles are working, then my strong suspicion is that a second GFCI receptacle exists on the boat.

An additional step is to remove each of the other (working) 120VAC receptacles, leading from the GFCI to verify good in / out voltages to known receptacles.

I have a 1998 270DASE, there 2 gfci’s in my boat. 1) to the right of the stove/microwave and 2 a sneaky on inside the bathroom sliding storage on the right side (above the head). I suspect it’s the bathroom gif I that has tripped.
