Calling all those who have painstakingly removed gauges and updated dashboards. I have replaced dash, reconnected and re wired my gauges on my 98 330 DA and everything works with the exception of the gauge lights which have never worked when I turn on my running lights?  Unlikely that it is the light in the gauges as none work. I don't think the dimmer control is working so I'm thinking I should start first by replacing that if I can find a 12v dimmer control. Any other thoughts on ways to approach this?

Thanks rsg

My last boat was a 2000 270 with the same problem and the PO had just soldered a jumper wire to bypass the dimmer. I'm not sure which wire but it was done on the back of the dimmer switch and when you put the nav lights on the instrument panel would lite up full brightness.

Makes sense a dimmer is just a in line current regulator stepper switch so conecting the wires would connect the current to full load. Will try that first thanks
