For many years Petite advertised that their HydrocoatSR ablative paint was used by sea ray. This is a dual bioside low VOC anti fouling paint. Also most boats come from the factory unpainted and this is a dealer add on. I have painted many bottoms and as long as you sand down (that is minimal prep!) you should be able to patch or recoat using the same type of paint i.e. Ablative. As those of us with experience know, the best long term solution (pay me now or pay me later) is to soda or sand blast down, clean and prep, apply 2 barrier coats at minimum and then 2 layers of bottom paint. More cost, adds value, better performance and will last for years.
