Hi All,
I have a 1999, 290 Sundancer. My question is, the CO alarm goes off very often and sometimes will not shut off for a long time, I could hear it today as I got on the boat, before any engine start ? any ideas ??

check the expiration date on the CO2 alarm, they expire about 4 years after they are installed so you have to replace them.

also make sure your 12 volt system is at 12 volts, if it drops below 12 volts the co2 will go off.

You are probably correct on both counts, 1 battery was very low and the CO detector might be the original, I just bought the boat! Thanks for the advice will try it out!

There was a link in regards to replacing the CO2 detectors but it seems to be gone. I replaced mine with a SafeTalert 62-541-R-marine from Hodges Marine and they were significantly cheaper than the oem alarms. It's already been a few years and no problems.
