Was there any other option for the installer?

I have a 390 and when we moved it, the SR mechanic was on top installing the electronics. I also went up to clean and wax. I would use caution to not slide off after you've waxed. I held onto the sunroof with one hand. The mechanic also showed me how to step on the windshield right where the supports are and pull myself onto the roof. I also removed the struts on the sunroof and came up through it as well.

Yes, you can get on top to wash, wax and work on electronics. Be careful, so you don't fall. Wear a lifejacket and have someone around with you as the boat will be rocking at the dock. Got to play heads up when you are working on the Bimini

I wax the hard top on my 2012 270DA by standing on the cabin door top to get the front, by standing on top of side windows to get sides, and by standing on a ladder in cockpit to get the back.
