My SR charging system has a breaker labeled battery charger on the AC side in the cabin panel. I don't have a generator so I have to be on shore power with that breaker on. If I turn the battery switches on and then the key, I can tell it is charging because I see digital voltage gauge go from 12.4 volts to 13.3 volts. Goes to 14.4 volts when engine alternator is running. My AC battery charger DC output is wired directly to my batteries in parallel so they charge all batteries without my battery switches being on.
