I have a 2006 260 Sundancer. The fuse to the trim tabs keeps blowing. I have had to replace it twice. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Is the correct size fuse being used? The 12V Bennett tabs use 20A fuse.

Has the round trip wiring or connections from the battery, through the fuses and switch to the pump deteriorated?

When the pump is activated, what is the measured voltage at the pump?

Is the fluid level correct?

Do the tabs work properly over their normal range, but the fuse blows when the tabs are activated, attempting to move past the stop?

I purchased the boat Dec 2018. The fuse that was in the Trim Tabs fuse slot was 15 Amp so that is what I replaced it with.

The boat has only 85 hours, it is very clean and all the wiring is in great condition.

I have not measured the voltage at the pump when activated yet but can do that.

The fluid levels are good.

I will need to do some testing to see at what point the fuse actually blow during movement.

Thanks for your suggestions!

You're welcome.

The Bennett FAQs say all 12V systems use a 20A fuse.
