Purchased a 2011 sea ray 260 sun dancer two seasons ago- I could lift the engine compartment hatch with no issues whatsoever. Fast forward to middle of this season, it felt like it weighed 300lbs. Replaced the gas shocks with identical replacement. Still can't hold the weight, replaced with heavier, two 100lb gas shocks, nope... replaced with two 120lb.. because my mechanic is telling me I need stronger shocks..
Meanwhile I KNOW something else is going on here.. I don't see a switch to "actuate" the bildge hatch, I've read the manual, it keeps saying there's a switch.. can't locate it and the former owner swears there never was one. What am I missing here?? Driving me crazy!! And no.. there's nothing under the seat that weighs anything at all.
