I have a problem with my hands and want to make deploying and retrieving my sea-anchor easier. My proposed solution is to install an anchor roller on the bow with a reinforcing plate. I have talked to a number of knowledgable folks both at West Marine and at dealerships who have said I should have no structural problems with this installation. One problem I forsee is the custom covers for the boat will not be able to cover the bow with the roller projecting beyond the edge of the bow.
I would be most appreciative if someone would share their experience of a workable solution (a swivel mount for the anchor roller, for example).
I would otherwise need to have my "on the water" cover and my on-trailer cover modified to accommodate the anchor roller.
Thank you very much for sharing what you can.
