Read the warranty. It usually defines that faults caused by modifications are not covered.
Of greater importance is safety. Ensure that all modifications meet or exceed the ABYC specifications.
It may seem simple, but the tools, skills and knowledge to properly implement this addition are beyond those of many owners.
